Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend development, you will engage in the entire software lifecycle for both new and existing applications. Employing Agile methodologies, you will collaborate individually and in teams to architect and enhance software systems. This role offers extensive opportunities to experiment with modern technologies and advanced tech stacks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve SHIELD’s products using the Go programming language, focusing on scalability, performance, availability, and latency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to devise innovative designs and architectures to optimize backend service scaling and efficiency.
• Participate actively in code and design reviews to uphold superior development quality.
• Support service capacity management, demand forecasting, performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
• Work closely with product teams to define and prototype feature requirements.
• Design, build, analyze, and debug large-scale distributed systems.
• Perform end-to-end performance tuning and optimization across full-stack services.
• Diagnose and refine complex enterprise-level software.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 4 years' experience in backend web development; candidates with more advanced expertise may be considered for senior positions.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related fields.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Proven skills in designing and architecting distributed systems with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Strong proficiency or willingness to work with Go language; prior experience with C++, Node.js, or Python is beneficial.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning, innovation, and adopting new technological skills.
• Experience configuring monitoring tools and participating in crisis management and system recovery.
• Bonus: Comfortable tackling both frontend and backend development tasks.
