Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the backend team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the backend services that support Scalio’s web and mobile applications. You will take end-to-end ownership of backend features from design to deployment and production maintenance, with a priority on correctness and dependable operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production APIs and services backed by databases.
• Implement and optimize background processing tasks, integrate with external providers, and manage data generation workflows.
• Focus on improving query performance, caching mechanisms, concurrency, and data integrity.
• Manage backend logic related to usage tracking and billing.
• Ensure quality through testing, monitoring, implementing safe release processes, and resolving incidents promptly.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of four years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong skills in API design, relational databases, and asynchronous processing.
• Proven ability to diagnose and fix production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Experience in making maintainable enhancements to existing codebases.
• Strong ownership mentality regarding feature correctness, operational stability, and customer impact.

Additional Desired Skills

• Experience with large-scale background job processing.
• Familiarity with AI service integrations, payment systems, observability tools, and cloud infrastructure.

Compensation & Equity
