Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer at TP ICAP, you will join a skilled team focused on delivering critical software solutions to support both internal broking operations and external client services. This role emphasizes working within an Agile framework from initial design through deployment, with a commitment to continuous integration and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with architects and principal engineers to develop solutions aligned with the company's IT strategies and vision.
- Mentor and support other team members to promote a culture of continuous learning.
- Partner with QA teams to ensure high-quality software delivery through rigorous testing and review methodologies.
- Champion quality assurance practices such as unit testing and code reviews to maintain software excellence.
- Experiment with diverse technologies and methodologies to identify optimal solutions and approaches.
- Deliver software that meets both functional requirements and non-functional performance criteria.
- Take full responsibility for developing critical features and driving their completion efficiently.
- Communicate transparently about project progress and proactively raise any blockers to minimize delays.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or at least seven years of equivalent industry experience, preferably in financial or trading systems.
- Expertise in modern C# development using the latest versions of Visual Studio.
- Strong skills in relational databases like MSSQL Server and MySQL, including schema design and performance tuning.
- Experience with asynchronous messaging systems involving message and event-based communication.
- Proven ability in designing and maintaining distributed, real-time systems and components.
- Practical knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud services, including deployment and resource management.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or GitHub pipelines, plus package management systems.
- Experience using Jira or similar issue tracking platforms.
- Comfortable with Agile working methods and effective collaboration with both local and remote team members.
- Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle including active involvement before, during, and after development phases.
- Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented, proactive, and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain a pragmatic delivery focus.
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate and challenge design choices ensuring optimal project outcomes.
- Experience delivering detailed proof of concepts to validate technical approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable, maintainable automated testing frameworks for complex applications.
Preferred Skills
- Background in financial or trading platforms along with a sound understanding of financial markets.
- Knowledge of the FIX protocol and experience handling FIX interactions.
- Basic familiarity with Java and JavaScript programming languages.
- Deeper understanding of AWS services, serverless architectures, and microservices environments.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), or related methodologies for requirements specification and design.
