Role Overview
The Senior Software Engineer acts as a dependable contributor ensuring high-quality and efficient delivery across multiple time zones. The role involves designing and implementing scalable, secure backend services with a focus on performance and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, test, and deploy reliable Go, NodeJS, or Python services with clear documentation emphasizing performance and low latency for global users.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for new features and legacy code to minimize regression risks, while enforcing CI/CD quality gates.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management and UX teams worldwide to refine requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, and align engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Establish robust alerting systems and runbooks promoting zero-downtime deployments and dependable distributed operations.
- Enhance engineering workflows by advocating automated tooling use and leveraging AI technologies such as code/test generation and dependency analysis to speed up development cycles.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience, delivering complex and scalable products end-to-end.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Go, NodeJS, and/or Python, with openness to learn VueJS for full-stack contributions.
- Solid expertise in authentication and identity management protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, and related IAM systems.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, and cloud computing principles.
- Ability to succeed within a distributed team setting using asynchronous communication, detailed documentation (GitOps), and adhering to strict Definition of Done criteria.
- Excellent organizational and technical leadership capabilities, facilitating consensus and decision-making spanning multiple time zones.
Additional Information
This role is designated as remote-first, with work permitted remotely within India. Candidates must be authorized to work in India. Participation in on-call shifts is required to respond promptly to operational alerts.
