Role Overview
We are looking for a Frontend Developer skilled in Angular and React Native to contribute to our mature, large-scale platform used daily by more than one million members across web, iOS, and Android. This role supports feature development, bug resolution, accessibility improvements, and testing under guidance from senior engineers, focusing on hands-on coding and gradual growth towards independent responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop well-defined features, resolve bugs, and implement UI enhancements following established state management, navigation, and API integration standards.
- Work on Angular web portals and shared UI components with TypeScript, Angular templates, services, routing, forms, RxJS, and shared state patterns.
- Create accessible, responsive user interfaces for web and mobile platforms adhering to design system and UI standards.
- Write clean, testable code and actively participate in code reviews.
- Become familiar with platform architecture including Angular apps, shared libraries, React Native apps using Context/hooks, Expo Router navigation, and API integration conventions.
- Escalate unclear or complex changes proactively to senior team members.
- Write unit and component tests using Jest and React Native Testing Library.
- Use and maintain Storybook for visual and snapshot testing.
- Assist in reproducing and triaging production bugs under supervision and follow release processes including Bitrise and app store submission.
- Collaborate effectively within a distributed, cross-location Agile team communicating through written tools and ceremonies.
- Design and implement AI-powered solutions via no-code, low-code, and advanced platforms to enhance workflows and decision processes.
- Adhere to company policies including work location, assignment, schedule, and flexible arrangements.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience, or relevant experience via internships, coursework, bootcamps, or personal projects.
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend basics including Angular components/templates and React components/hooks, state, props, and fundamental RxJS.
- Understanding of REST API interaction, including request handling and error management.
- Familiar with Git version control and pull request workflows.
- Experience or projects involving web or mobile development are acceptable alternatives to professional experience.
- Comfortable debugging and interpreting error messages.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of iOS/Android native development and interest in accessibility standards (WCAG) or design systems.
- Experience or familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira tool.
- Exposure to Angular CLI, NgRx, unit testing frameworks like Jasmine/Karma or Jest, and React Native Testing Library.
- Knowledge of testing tools such as Detox is a plus.
- Prior work or interest in regulated sectors like healthcare, insurance, or fintech is beneficial but not required.
- Experience or willingness to quickly adopt React Native and Expo frameworks.
- Completion of coursework or personal projects using Expo Router or Expo technology.
Preferred Working Style
- Motivated to learn and work with existing complex codebases rather than building from zero.
- Receptive to supervision and guidance from senior engineers.
- Effective communicator in written form to support asynchronous collaboration with offshore colleagues.
- Authorized to work onshore in the U.S. with potential access to protected health information under company policy.
