Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer and Subject Matter Expert in Infrastructure, DevOps, SecOps, Automation, and Oracle DB Administration for a 12-month extendable contract based onsite in Qatar. This role involves supporting a major Vodafone transformation program focused on building, securing, automating, and managing enterprise hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring high availability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Oracle DBX stack infrastructure on-premises and cloud-based.
• Drive DevOps and DevSecOps initiatives by integrating security controls within CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage disaster recovery capabilities, backup, and restoration operations ensuring high platform availability.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across infrastructure, networking, virtualization, databases, and applications with detailed root cause analyses.
• Support security operations including incident handling, vulnerability management, and compliance adherence.
• Install, configure, optimize, and administer Oracle database components such as RAC, ASM, Data Guard, OEM, and backup/recovery mechanisms.
• Administer enterprise virtualization systems including Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager, VMware ESXi/vCenter, and Oracle VM.
• Perform Linux administration tasks like patching, system hardening, tuning, and performance optimization across Oracle Linux environments.
• Lead automation efforts utilizing Bash, Python, Ansible, and Jenkins for infrastructure and deployment processes.

Required Experience and Skills

• 8-10+ years' hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure and hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
• Proficient with VMware, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager, and Oracle VM.
• Expert-level skills in Oracle Linux system administration (versions 7-10).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, SAN, and TLS/HTTPS protocols.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Competence in DevOps tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Helm.
• Container management with Docker, Podman, CRI-O and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Expertise in scripting and automation with Bash and Python.
• Familiarity with security operations including firewalls, network segmentation, EDR, endpoint security, SIEM platforms, vulnerability and patch management, certificate handling, micro-segmentation, deception technologies, and security hardening (CIS/CSS benchmarks).
• Oracle DBA capabilities in installation, configuration, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, backup/recovery, flashback, database cloning/replication, OEM administration, disaster recovery drills, and database performance tuning.
• Proven ability to perform major incident root cause analysis and impact assessments.

Additional Information
