Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to enhance and extend Point's diverse digital product platform. This role primarily focuses on the Docket Operations division, developing solutions that help our teams work smarter and more efficiently. You will handle the construction and upkeep of multiple system services, facilitate integrations between internal tools, and participate in leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI-assisted workflows within live production environments. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and document complex features and services involving multiple interacting components and database adjustments, employing suitable design patterns.
• Develop, test, and sustain superior quality code bases in languages like TypeScript, Python, and Ruby.
• Create comprehensive pull requests, guiding reviewers to focus on critical feedback areas, and provide insightful code reviews for peers.
• Document medium-scale technical designs involving multiple modules and database alterations; prepare and facilitate technical design walkthroughs with senior engineering guidance.
• Engage actively in sprint ceremonies such as planning, grooming, and retrospectives to align with business goals and priorities.
• Respond constructively to code evaluation to continually enhance code quality and durability.
• Implement AI and data-driven components responsibly within production, maintaining adherence to privacy standards.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks or features, maintain transparent communication regarding progress and challenges.
• Develop mentorship skills by assisting new hires in onboarding and supporting junior engineers with guidance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of professional software development experience with emphasis on backend or full-stack roles.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Ruby and Python.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, caching mechanisms, and database performance optimization.
• Experience in frontend development utilizing modern technologies including TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like React.
• Understanding of responsive design principles, accessibility standards, and core user experience concepts.
• Practical experience in integrating frontend applications with backend APIs and services.
• Effective communication abilities to clarify product or design requirements collaboratively.
• Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment balancing quality with delivery speed, while being open to mentorship and learning.
• Team-oriented with a focus on feedback, coaching, and ongoing improvement.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance development processes is advantageous.
• Familiarity with design systems or shared UI component libraries is a plus.
• Knowledge of frontend debugging and performance tuning is beneficial.
