Position Overview

We are currently looking for a driven and experienced Senior Software Developer specializing in Microservices with GoLang to join our Cambridge-based team on a hybrid work setup (3 days onsite). This permanent full-time role involves designing, building, and deploying microservices within cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep expertise in GoLang programming, microservice architectural principles, containerization, and associated cloud technologies.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain microservices using GoLang in a cloud-native context.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to deliver robust software solutions.
• Design RESTful APIs compliant with OpenAPI 3.0 standards and develop consuming services.
• Create thorough design documentation including Low-Level Design (LLD), High-Level Design (HLD), UML diagrams, and API specifications.
• Write comprehensive tests including unit, integration, functional, and system tests leveraging GoLang testing frameworks.
• Utilize Agile methodologies in microservice development lifecycle.
• Employ Atlassian tools such as Jira and Git for project management and source control.
• Debug and troubleshoot software efficiently and effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years specifically in GoLang.
• In-depth knowledge of microservice architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Proficient in RESTful API design and consumption.
• Solid grasp of testing methodologies and frameworks for GoLang applications.
• Proven ability to use Atlassian Jira and Git system tools.
• Working experience with MongoDB including configuration and management.
• Strong debugging capabilities.
• Competency in preparing detailed design documents (LLD, HLD, UML, API specifications).

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins.
• Knowledge or experience working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is advantageous.
