Job description
About the Role
Join AMD's Singapore-based Signal Integrity team, dedicated to ensuring optimal performance through integration of silicon, package, and platform electrical designs. This team supports engineering groups with cutting-edge product development and design enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and characterize electrical performance of high-speed signaling and power delivery networks including package, connector, and board elements.
- Collaborate effectively within AMD and with external customers to make sound engineering decisions and resolve issues efficiently.
- Utilize packaging, cable, socket, connector, and board design expertise for signal integrity.
- Employ measurement instruments such as Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR), and high-speed oscilloscopes in testing and evaluation.
- Develop test board designs, measurement fixtures, and apply de-embedding techniques.
- Perform analog and impedance characterization, processing S-parameters data.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with high-speed digital signaling standards like PCI Express (PCIe) and DDR memory.
- Experience with electrical modeling and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools including HFSS, SIwave, and ADS.
- Understanding of electromagnetic theory and digital circuit analysis principles.
- Strong self-motivation with capability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams and global sites.
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on expertise in signal integrity characterization using VNA and TDR.
- Proficiency in S-parameter processing and impedance analysis.
- Additional advantage for experience with cables and connectors.
Academic Background
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Microwave Engineering.
