Senior Security Solution Architect, APJC Customer Security

Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks an experienced Senior Secure AI Solution Architect for its APJC Customer Security team. This hands-on role entails partnering with customers advancing rapidly in AI and addressing unprecedented challenges like autonomous agent identity, prompt injection protection, AI development lifecycle governance, and regulatory compliance evidence. The architect works closely with customers to build prototypes and proofs of concept that transition ideas into validated solutions quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Create functional prototypes and proofs in customer sandbox environments using AWS AI tools such as Bedrock, AgentCore, SageMaker, and infrastructure-as-code technologies including CDK and Terraform, delivering solutions within days rather than months.
• Directly implement solutions to facilitate critical decisions by establishing controls such as agentic identity, prompt injection defenses, development lifecycles, guardrails, and audit/evidence mechanisms.
• Maintain engagement throughout implementation to ensure designs remain practical and adjust approaches based on real-world feedback.
• Manage relationships with AWS service teams (Bedrock, AgentCore, SageMaker), representing regional field needs to influence product roadmaps and translating product updates into actionable field guidance.
• Continuously gather customer insights to inform feature requests and stay attuned to rapidly evolving threat and regulatory landscapes.
• Develop original technical assets including reference architectures, reusable code, patterns, technical blogs, and workshops to disseminate successful solutions region-wide.
• Mentor and uplift the skills of regional Solutions Architects and broader teams, cultivating expertise in Secure AI practices.
• Collaborate with content and enablement teams by transferring proven patterns to ensure scalable distribution of guidance without direct involvement.

A Day in the Role

Typical days include hands-on development in customer sandbox environments to validate AI security controls, collaborating with sales and account teams to design innovative approaches where no precedents exist, conducting workshops on advanced defenses like prompt injection protection, and scaling impact by packaging successes into reusable resources and communicating findings across the region.

About the Team

The APJC Customer Security team empowers customers to adopt AI securely on AWS by integrating risk management and regulatory compliance seamlessly. The team operates programs focused on enabling secure AI development and leveraging AI for cybersecurity, offering a dynamic environment with leadership visibility and opportunities to influence both technical direction and industry practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies.
• Proven experience designing and operating AWS-based solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively to technical teams and executive stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of AWS platforms, customer segments, and industry sectors.
• Expertise in at least one of the following domains: access control systems, network security, application and system security, security architecture and models, cryptography, or operations security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience collaborating with end user or developer communities.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud architecture concepts.
