About Linkly

Linkly is a private equity-backed Australian fintech company specializing in payment integration solutions. We are a market leader in ecommerce recurring billing, powering over 200,000 terminals and processing more than two billion transactions annually. Our software supports more than 800 integrations with POS systems. Trusted by major banks and retailers like Woolworths, David Jones, JB Hi-Fi, and Bunnings, we focus on seamless integration of payment terminals and POS systems. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of payment technologies, delivering innovation and value to merchants, banks, acquirers, and POS vendors as we expand into new markets.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the creation and operation of Linkly’s internal penetration testing capability—a new function within our Security team. As the primary cloud platform is Microsoft Azure, this role demands extensive cloud security expertise. You will collaborate closely with the Chief Security Officer, security colleagues, engineering, and operations teams to ensure our products and services meet rigorous security standards. Your responsibility is to verify and validate the security posture of designs developed by engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage Linkly's in-house penetration testing program, performing assessments across cloud infrastructure, products, and services.
  • Conduct security evaluations for all new modifications to cloud infrastructure.
  • Consult with product engineering teams to review, verify, and test design and configuration security to meet company standards.
  • Define and implement security guidelines and baselines to govern cloud environment configurations and benchmarks.
  • Provide security design assessments and testing for forthcoming projects, such as a new data product initiative.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 6 years of professional experience as a security engineer, penetration tester, or security consultant.
  • Proficient hands-on penetration testing skills.
  • In-depth technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, including knowledge of cloud-based attack methods and common misconfigurations.
  • Experience designing and implementing secure cloud architectures, notably on Azure.
  • Competence in creating threat models and helping engineering teams strategize risk mitigation.
  • Programming or scripting ability (e.g., Python or PowerShell) to automate security testing and develop tools.
  • Strong written communication skills to produce clear, concise reports detailing findings, risk assessments, and tangible remediation approaches.
  • Effective verbal communication skills suitable for explaining security concepts to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred, but Not Required

  • Experience with AWS cloud environment and secure architecture.
  • Possession of certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with PCI DSS standards and the payments sector.

Organizational Values

  • Act Like an Owner: Embrace full accountability for outcomes, making decisions that support Linkly’s long-term success.
  • Innovate: Challenge norms, advocate new ideas, and drive impactful transformations for clients and the company.
  • Deepen Trust: Build reliability through honesty, openness, and consistent delivery with colleagues, partners, and customers.
  • Care and Respect: Cultivate an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to excel.
