Senior SAP HCM Consultant

About the Role

ZettaMine Labs Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior SAP HCM Consultant with extensive expertise in SAP ECC HCM, Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, and Payroll. This is an onsite position based in Bhopal, India, with working hours from 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM IST (aligned with CET timezone). Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, test, deploy, integrate, and provide ongoing support for SAP HCM solutions.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business teams to deliver effective SAP HCM functionality.
• Manage and configure SAP HCM Personnel Administration including employee data, personnel actions, infotypes, dynamic actions, and lifecycle processes.
• Set up and maintain enterprise and personnel structures.
• Support various employee lifecycle events such as hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
• Administer Organizational Management including units, positions, jobs, relationships, and reporting hierarchies, ensuring OM-PA integration.
• Configure SAP HCM Time Management encompassing work schedules, holiday calendars, attendance, leave, overtime, shifts, time evaluation rules, and troubleshoot related issues.
• Manage SAP Payroll processes including payroll areas, payment processing, wage types, payroll schemas, and Personnel Calculation Rules; support gross-to-net calculations, deductions, benefits, statutory compliance, retroactive accounting, and payroll corrections.
• Analyze payroll logs, troubleshoot calculation issues, and support payroll posting to SAP FI/CO.
• Drive integration efforts between PA, OM, Time Management, Payroll, SAP FI/CO, SuccessFactors Employee Central and Payroll, S/4HANA, time/attendance, banking/payment, and third-party HR/payroll systems.
• Perform functional integration analysis, data mapping, testing, error resolution, and data reconciliation.
• Lead and participate in full-cycle SAP HCM implementation and rollout projects including business workshops, fit-gap analysis, solution design, functional specifications, data migration, testing (SIT/UAT/regression), cutover, go-live, and hypercare support.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, manage incidents and problems, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate across technical teams including ABAP, Basis, Security, and Integration.
• Manage upgrades, patches, enhancement packs, release activities, and HR Pack upgrades relevant to SAP HCM.
• Identify and implement improvements and automation opportunities.
• Maintain detailed documentation such as BRDs, fit-gap analyses, solution designs, configuration, test scripts, UAT documents, cutover plans, user manuals, and production support materials.
• Conduct knowledge transfer and mentoring for junior consultants.
• Serve as the primary SAP HCM functional liaison for assigned processes and engage stakeholders effectively.

Candidate Requirements

• 6-8 years total experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP ECC HCM.
• Proficiency with SAP Modules: Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management (PT), and Payroll (PY).
• In-depth knowledge of SAP Payroll processes including payroll schemas, Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs), wage types, payroll areas, and payroll control records.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting time evaluation, work schedules, absence and attendance management, leave, overtime, and shifts.
• Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes and integration among PA, OM, Time Management, and Payroll.
• Familiarity with SAP HCM integrations to FI/CO, SuccessFactors EC/ECP, SAP S/4HANA, banking/payment systems, and third-party HR/payroll applications.
• Capability in functional testing methodologies including SIT, UAT, regression, and payroll testing, along with defect management.
• Experience in SAP HCM full lifecycle implementations including cutover, go-live, hypercare, and production support (L2/L3).
• Ability to perform root cause analysis, incident management, and change implementation.
• Experience preparing functional specification documents, solution designs, configuration, and testing materials.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills with technical teams.
• Hands-on experience with HRSP/HR Pack upgrades (1-34), legal change impact analysis, SAP Notes, custom enhancements, and payroll parallel testing during upgrades.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors Employee Central / Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
• Knowledge of SAP HCM integrations and country-specific payroll statutory requirements.
• Exposure to SAP HCM Benefits and ESS/MSS modules.
• Ability to analyze SPAU/SPDD impacts and SAP legal changes.
• Experience with custom Z objects, user exits, BAdIs, reports, forms, and interfaces development.
• SAP HCM certification and global implementation experience.
