Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Recruitment Advisor to join our HR team and play a pivotal role in sourcing and attracting top talent to support QDC's growth. This position goes beyond typical recruitment tasks, acting as a strategic partner to leadership by offering expert recruitment advice, creating focused talent acquisition strategies, and overseeing recruitment efforts from job vacancy approvals through to onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive recruitment processes across both construction roles and corporate functions.
- Create and implement recruitment strategies targeting specialist and project-critical roles that are hard to fill.
- Establish and sustain talent pipelines covering Perth, regional Western Australia, and interstate markets.
- Recruit a broad spectrum of construction-related professionals such as Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, Contract Administrators, Commercial teams, Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, and HSE specialists.
- Collaborate with hiring managers, providing insights on candidate availability, competitive salaries, and recruiting timelines.
- Critically evaluate recruitment briefs to ensure realistic and achievable requirements.
- Develop sourcing methods including direct outreach, networking, referrals, and talent pools to minimize dependence on external recruitment agencies.
- Oversee QDC’s recruitment agency partnerships, managing their performance, fees, and contractual terms.
- Create engaging job advertisements and target recruitment campaigns.
- Support and counsel activities promoting QDC’s employer brand and employee value proposition.
- Own recruitment workflows within the Employment Hero platform, ensuring optimal use and ongoing enhancement.
- Analyze recruitment metrics and trends to identify areas for process improvements.
- Ensure all recruitment efforts comply with applicable laws, company policies, and procedures.
- Contribute actively to workforce planning, project onboarding, and other HR initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years recruitment experience, with significant exposure to internal recruitment in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Proven track record delivering end-to-end recruitment programs.
- In-depth understanding of recruitment dynamics in construction and project-oriented environments.
- Skilled at recruiting for both site-based roles and corporate job functions.
- Expertise in direct talent sourcing, networking, and pipeline creation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities with the confidence to influence and challenge leadership decisions where necessary.
- Solid candidate evaluation and interview proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Highly organized with the aptitude to juggle multiple job openings and priorities.
- Experience working with HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), or similar recruitment management software.
- Desirable qualifications include a Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or closely related fields.
Why Join QDC?
This role presents a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on shaping the company’s talent acquisition practices. You will engage closely with business leaders, enjoy the autonomy to develop tailored recruitment strategies, enhance talent pipelines, and elevate the hiring experience for both candidates and managers.
