About the Role
Join Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, Auckland’s cultural, events, and destination agency committed to enriching the city's vibrant cultural life through iconic venues and events. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex building projects at some of New Zealand’s renowned arts, cultural, and sporting sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, development, and execution of physical work projects across diverse venues.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure goals are met smoothly.
- Manage project communications, schedules, budgets ensuring timely delivery within financial constraints.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Who You Are
- Experienced in managing venue or building construction/renewal projects, preferably within large, complex portfolios or local government.
- Technically proficient with strong problem-solving skills related to building services, façades, weathertightness, fit-outs, or general renewals.
- Exceptional skills in project management and stakeholder communication.
- Comprehensive understanding of operations and maintenance of large public/event buildings ensuring safety and functionality.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, consents, regulatory frameworks, and contract conditions (e.g., NZS3910).
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of managing multiple projects in a team environment while mentoring others.
- Familiar with project management methods and tools; qualifications in project management, engineering, or construction management are advantageous but not mandatory.
