Job description

About the Role

We are partnering with a prominent European productivity software firm to hire a Senior Product Manager specializing in PDF technologies. Based in Berlin, this pivotal role focuses on leading the evolution of a flagship PDF editor used by over 30 million people worldwide. The emphasis is on incorporating advanced, user-friendly AI features across iOS, Mac, and Web platforms to enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle of critical PDF functionalities spanning mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Guide a versatile team consisting of five engineers, a designer, and a product analyst in a cross-functional setup.
  • Develop strategy, prototype, and deliver innovative AI-powered tools aimed at improving user productivity.
  • Implement and manage A/B testing and experimentation frameworks to refine user engagement and optimize product funnels.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, design, and analytics teams to move concepts from ideation through to successful launch.

Success Milestones

  • Month 1: Integrate within your team, establish rapport with leadership, and immerse yourself in current user experience and data insights.
  • Months 2-3: Take complete ownership of the development backlog, initiate core experiments, and start building prototypes for impactful AI-driven features.
  • By the end of the first quarter: Successfully launch a major feature serving millions of users and lay out a data-backed roadmap for future AI productivity enhancements.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing mobile-focused consumer products with a track record of launching engaging apps.
  • Skilled at leading cross-disciplinary teams involving engineers, designers, and analysts.
  • Strong analytical abilities, proficient in product analytics, A/B testing, and user funnel optimization.
  • Deep expertise in user research with the ability to translate customer insights into actionable product plans.
  • Experience with AI-based prototyping or productivity tools to streamline workflows.
  • Capable of thriving in a dynamic, autonomous environment that values speed and initiative over rigid corporate processes.

Work Culture and Environment

The organization promotes a balance of focused individual ownership with a collaborative, customer-first mindset. Communication prioritizes asynchronous methods to maintain concentration and reduce unnecessary meetings, supplemented by regular, purposeful team standups and product demonstrations. Decision-making relies on collaboration supported by data and user research while empowering leaders to act decisively and independently.

Additional Information

  • Position located in Berlin with an international, cooperative team setting.
  • Ownership of a high-impact product serving over 30 million global users.
  • Work culture emphasizes minimizing meetings and supporting productivity through intentional communication patterns.

Candidate Suitability

This opportunity may not fit those who prefer slow decision-making environments, predominantly B2B or enterprise product experience without mobile consumer focus, or those expecting to work strictly from predefined specifications rather than driving discovery and roadmap creation.
