Job description
About Heatseeker
Heatseeker transforms market research by focusing on actual customer behavior, not just survey responses. Using synthetic personas connected to first-party data, combined with live experiments on platforms like Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok, it enables enterprise clients to validate concepts and portfolios swiftly. Trusted by global firms including L'Oréal, Cisco, and KPMG, Heatseeker integrates with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot to surface customer insights directly where teams operate. This small, senior team drives product innovation through direct customer engagement and rapid iteration.
Role Overview
This role responds to the evolving nature of product management by positioning the product manager closer both to customers and to engineering. The successful candidate will focus on deeply understanding customer needs, directly interacting with key enterprise users, and contributing hands-on by prototyping and shipping improvements. The role emphasizes impact, speed, and ownership over traditional ticket management, aiming to strengthen customer growth and product relevance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior marketing, insight, and innovation leaders in global enterprises, guiding experimental design and question framing.
- Lead onboarding and adoption for critical accounts to ensure every workspace delivers meaningful, decision-enabling outcomes.
- Participate actively in client readouts, workshops, and quarterly business reviews to gather candid feedback about product performance.
- Identify and address product limitations with immediate workarounds and longer-term fixes aligned with customer needs.
- Represent the customer's voice in roadmap planning, supported by data, transcripts, and experiment outcomes.
- Discover and cultivate key workflows and moments that foster habitual use of Heatseeker, overseeing metrics on usage, retention, and expansion.
- Develop strategies for growing within accounts via new teams, markets, or use cases.
- Design and execute experiments targeting onboarding and growth levers, promoting successful initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams to translate product insights into subscription renewals and upselling opportunities.
- Translate customer feedback into prioritized problem statements and collaborate with design and engineering teams from prototyping through delivery.
- Monitor developments in AI models, agents, and multi-channel platforms to inform product innovation.
- Define and measure success metrics that connect product efforts directly to business outcomes.
- Utilize AI-driven coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to prototype, resolve friction points, and deliver incremental improvements.
- Eliminate user experience challenges by refining flows, language, and handling edge cases efficiently.
- Develop internal tools and workflows leveraging AI to enhance team and customer productivity.
- Engage directly with the codebase under engineering reviews, focusing on freeing engineers to tackle complex challenges.
Candidate Profile
- At least 5 years of experience in product, client-facing, or consultancy functions, including 2+ years within B2B SaaS, preferably servicing enterprise or high-touch clients.
- Proven ability to engage confidently with executive-level stakeholders such as Global CMOs and Heads of Insights, earning their trust and charting clear next steps.
- Strong consultative skills with the capability to convert ambiguous business questions into empirically testable hypotheses.
- Expertise in product growth metrics including activation, retention, and expansion, and the tactical know-how to influence them.
- Competency in data analysis from product analytics platforms and SQL to drive informed decision-making.
- Fluency with current AI technologies and perspectives on how advances in models, agents, and multi-channel processing impact product development.
- Bias toward taking initiative and delivering practical solutions promptly rather than deferring issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or background in market research, consumer insights, brand strategy, or management consulting.
- Familiarity with paid social media platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok) or experimentation software tools.
- Prior roles as a founder, early startup employee, or forward-deployed PM/engineer.
- Hands-on experience building with AI agents including prompt creation, evaluation, and multi-channel platform servers.
- Knowledge of product-led growth strategies in enterprise environments and sales-integrated approaches.
Work Environment and Benefits
- Engagement with global enterprise clients from day one, supported by a seasoned team.
- An AI-first culture utilizing coding agents and multi-channel platforms to automate routine tasks.
- Ownership over product decisions with rapid development cycles allowing for quick implementation of learnings.
- A collaborative, ambitious team environment valuing craftsmanship, customer focus, and mutual respect.
- Position located in Sydney with some expected travel including trips to the US.
