Job description
About the Role
Our client is an innovative, venture-backed company specializing in decentralized data infrastructure within the Web3 and data portability domain. They seek a Senior Product Manager to oversee the entire product suite spanning a Layer 1 protocol, a data portability protocol, developer-focused resources for third-party builders, and several commercial offerings, including a user-context API, licensed datasets, and agentic services.
The role involves close collaboration with company founders, executive leadership, engineering heads, external design partners, marketing teams, and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong product judgment, high organizational capabilities, and the willingness to engage deeply in practical problem solving. This person will champion product initiatives internally by understanding what is being delivered, why it matters, and communicating timely updates across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously update detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) covering both protocol and application layers, adapting to evolving decisions.
- Own end-to-end product lifecycle management, including prioritizing initiatives, planning with engineering leadership, monitoring progress, and resolving blockers.
- Lead the management of the developer and builder experience alongside go-to-market teams, ensuring infrastructure, documentation, and onboarding processes facilitate seamless third-party protocol integration.
- Provide transparent, proactive communication to executive leadership about product status, risks, and critical decisions to avoid surprises.
- Collaborate with external design partners throughout the product development cycle, from ideation to launch.
- Coordinate and brief marketing and community teams on product launches to optimize messaging and outreach.
- Ensure timely internal sign-offs from finance and legal departments to prevent delays in product releases.
- Address emerging challenges across functions, leveraging AI tools for research and productivity, while applying human insight for effective judgment and communication.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Possesses at least five years of product management experience, including senior roles; experience with protocols, infrastructure, or data-related products is highly desirable.
- Demonstrates proven product judgment, having successfully launched products adopted by real users.
- Experience with developer-centric products such as SDKs, APIs, or documentation, or a strong understanding of what drives developer platform adoption.
- Exhibits exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective and proactive communicator with the ability to hold others and oneself accountable.
- Thrives in environments with ambiguity and small teams, and is willing to perform hands-on, sometimes less glamorous tasks.
