Job description
About the Company
Matillion, the force behind Maia, an AI-driven Data Automation platform, is revolutionizing data handling in today's fast-evolving AI economy. Maia leverages 15 years of data expertise combined with advanced agentic AI to remove manual data engineering tasks, enabling organizations like Cisco, DocuSign, and Slack to achieve faster business outcomes. Headquartered in Manchester with teams in the UK, US, and India, Matillion has raised over $300 million from leading investors such as General Atlantic, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Battery Ventures.
Role Overview
The Senior Product Manager will have full ownership of a key part of the Maia product, balancing complex user challenges, AI technology, and commercial goals. This role demands someone obsessed with users and data, who sets high standards for an agentic product experience and moves the product forward with accuracy and speed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a core segment of Maia end to end: identify impactful problems, set clear priorities, handle trade-offs with limited data, and drive measurable results.
- Establish quality benchmarks for agentic behavior by designing rigorous evaluations, analyzing outcomes, and maintaining high standards.
- Gain deep insights into user needs by looking beyond feature requests to address fundamental workflow frictions and trust-building moments.
- Collaborate with Engineering on models, context, tools like MCP, and orchestration, understanding how each influences the product.
- Enhance personal productivity using AI tools for research, idea synthesis, prototyping, and analysis without compromising quality.
- Ensure alignment across functions: coordinate daily with Engineering and Design, keep GTM teams informed about product developments, and communicate roadmap and priorities effectively to stakeholders, leadership, and customers.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- Proven expertise in launching and scaling B2B products that users love.
- Strong understanding of modern AI product dynamics, including evaluation techniques, agentic workflows, contextual usage, and tools such as MCP, with keen judgment on AI appropriateness.
- Systems thinking skills to grasp interdependencies, balancing craftsmanship, speed, and commercial value.
- Ability to make confident decisions in ambiguous environments using incomplete data and openness to revise decisions when new evidence arises.
- Advanced data literacy, using metrics and evidence to guide choices rather than opinions.
- Outstanding communication skills to convey vision clearly, foster cross-functional collaboration, and present confidently to senior leadership and clients.
- Keen product instincts and design sensibility, maintaining high standards by staying close to user experience.
- Bonus: Familiarity with data domains such as integration, warehousing (Snowflake, Databricks), or analytics is advantageous but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range is £76,000 to £114,000 per annum, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications demonstrated during the selection process.
- Equity participation opportunities
- Thirty days of paid holiday plus bank holidays
- Five days of paid volunteering leave annually
- Comprehensive private health insurance
- Life insurance coverage
- Pension scheme
- Access to mental health support services
