Job description
Role Overview
The External Wafer Manufacturing team partners with third-party foundries to secure consistent chip supply across NXP's business segments. This position primarily focuses on driving yield improvements locally for key products during new technology introductions (NTI), as well as managing foundry process transfers and enabling new fabrication facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement yield tracking methodologies and infrastructure to automate yield data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate with technology and product teams to create overarching yield improvement plans linked to new technology rollouts.
- Evaluate corporation-wide yield enhancement priorities to identify focus areas essential for meeting business objectives, influencing internal teams and foundries to allocate necessary resources.
- Engage directly with foundry partners to accelerate yield improvements, leveraging comprehensive knowledge of process, device, design, and testing constraints across diverse products and technology nodes.
- Develop and standardize Best Known Methods for yield enhancement across multiple technology platforms.
- Maintain close communication with global NXP technology and product teams and semiconductor foundries in Asia to achieve company-wide yield goals.
Qualifications and Preferences
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in semiconductor industry focusing on yield enhancement or related disciplines.
- Fluency in both English and spoken Mandarin is essential to facilitate communication with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in yield enhancement techniques and data analytics.
- Solid understanding of failure analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of SoC architecture and product test pattern design.
- Experience in setting up yield management systems, familiarity with coding languages and database structures is advantageous.
