Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer in Process Integration Engineering at our Limerick site. This senior P6 individual contributor role commands full technical leadership in directing end-to-end process integration across semiconductor manufacturing technologies. The role is pivotal in steering integration strategies, managing complex cross-module challenges, advancing yield, quality, cost, reliability, and cycle time improvements, and ensuring technology ramp readiness and stable manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead overall strategy for process integration, influencing process flows, module interactions, trade-offs, and factory priorities across diverse technologies and platforms.
- Drive initiatives to improve yield, device performance, and robustness across multiple modules by identifying systemic issues and minimizing process variability.
- Collaborate with development, product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and global teams to successfully transfer new technologies into reliable and scalable manufacturing processes.
- Lead complex problem resolution for integration-related excursions using structured root cause analysis, statistical tools, and risk management techniques.
- Utilize data analytics from yield, metrology, reliability, and process control systems to forecast risks and implement proactive control measures.
- Influence and align senior technical and operational stakeholders across multiple disciplines and geographic regions on integration strategies and priorities.
- Establish and enhance integration governance, standards, documentation, control plans, and knowledge-sharing frameworks to promote consistency and scalability.
- Mentor senior engineering staff and build organizational process integration capabilities, acting as a trusted expert for technical decision-making.
- Deliver high-level impact by shaping technology roadmaps, simplifying complex manufacturing challenges, and supporting broad manufacturing objectives.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Comprehensive knowledge of semiconductor process flows, module interactions, and yield mechanisms, with a clear understanding of their implications on fab performance.
- Proven expertise in resolving complicated, ambiguous integration problems across multiple modules and products using root cause analysis, DOE, and statistical techniques.
- Advanced skills in yield engineering, defect reduction, excursion management, process control, reliability analysis, and predictive data analytics.
- Strong ability to influence senior-level stakeholders and build consensus on integration priorities and operational risks.
- Excellent communications skills at executive levels, with capacity to simplify technical complexities and provide actionable business insights.
- Deep commitment to governance, quality, risk management, change control, and compliance with fabrication and customer specifications.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring technical teams and developing robust knowledge management practices.
- Recognition as a technical leader with proven impact on site, business unit, or global manufacturing strategies.
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related science/engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically over 13 years of advanced experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments, including process integration, technology transfer, yield improvement, or related fields; candidates with relevant advanced degrees may have reduced experience thresholds.
- Demonstrated success in senior technical leadership roles influencing integration strategy and delivering measurable improvements in yield, quality, reliability, and ramp performance.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in resolving complex integration problems and establishing sustainable control strategies.
