Role Overview

As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will oversee legislation and regulations and facilitate legislative and regulatory reforms within a dynamic and complex operational framework. Partnering with internal stakeholders and operational experts ensures the legislative framework aligns with practical delivery needs. Your recommendations will be clear, concise, and in straightforward language, respecting briefing length limits. This position offers real influence over significant policy matters.

Key Duties

  • Administer and manage legislation, including regulations, pertaining to your portfolios.
  • Lead legislative and regulatory initiatives to support effective organizational operations.
  • Evaluate and provide advice on the suitability of existing legislation.
  • Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders and operational specialists.
  • Enhance internal stakeholder input and feedback.
  • Deliver concise written advice in plain English within a five-page briefing constraint.
  • Represent the organisation in external engagements and act as a Policy representative internally.
  • Adapt support to wider team and group priorities beyond assigned portfolios.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience providing public policy advice with some time in senior advisory roles.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities with comfort handling ambiguity and complex situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with clarity and brevity emphasized.
  • Proven capabilities in managing relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity working alongside operational experts is advantageous.
  • Ability to work autonomously, self-aware, and motivated in professional growth.
