Overview
The Ministry of Justice invites applications for a fixed-term Senior Policy Advisor role in the Access to Justice Policy team, located in Wellington. The position is available until 30 March 2027 and involves shaping policy that impacts New Zealanders' lives.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires applying strong policy judgment to transform complex issues into clear advice. Responsibilities include scoping, planning, analyzing policy proposals, and assessing legislative and operational impacts in law reform initiatives. Building and maintaining effective relationships within government and stakeholders is essential.
Qualifications and Experience

Understanding the machinery of government is vital. While experience with the legislative process is advantageous, it is not mandatory. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is required, alongside eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Salary Details
The salary range for this position is from NZD 112,766 to NZD 145,388 per annum pro rata and will be determined based on skills and experience.
