Senior Platform Engineer

Position Summary

We are recruiting a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Platform Services and Emerging Technology team within the Developer Enablement organization. This role focuses on equipping developers with the necessary platforms, tools, and support for building, testing, and deploying scalable applications leveraging Autodesk’s developer ecosystems such as CloudOS and Beacon.

Role Overview

As a senior technical leader, you will spearhead developer onboarding and enablement platform initiatives across Americas, Canada, and EMEA regions. Your responsibilities include architecting and advancing systems to boost developer efficiency, accelerate onboarding processes, and reinforce platform dependability. The role demands extensive hands-on experience in cloud platform engineering, AI/ML implementations, and agentic AI workflows—primarily harnessing LLM-based automation to innovate onboarding, troubleshooting, and self-service developer experiences.

You will be responsible for designing and managing cloud-native applications, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using technologies like Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes. Additionally, you will create intelligent automation powered by AI/ML frameworks to elevate the developer enablement strategy to next-generation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and continual enhancement of developer onboarding and enablement platforms.
• Standardize deployment workflows among application teams to streamline service rollout.
• Expedite onboarding and deployment timelines through advanced platform automation.
• Create cloud-native automation tools to minimize manual intervention in onboarding processes.
• Develop and maintain developer support tools and internal platform services.
• Offer direct technical mentorship and assistance to developers utilizing internal platforms.
• Perform complex troubleshooting of platform and integration challenges in distributed systems.
• Partner with application and platform teams to meet evolving developer requirements.
• Design and deploy AI/ML and agentic AI solutions automating onboarding and improving troubleshooting and self-service features.
• Utilize AI-driven automation to enhance platform performance, reliability, and developer experiences at a large scale.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for platform modernization and automation projects.
• Document and maintain comprehensive technical guides, runbooks, and enablement content.
• Keep abreast of emerging cloud, AI/ML, and agentic AI technologies and apply them within the platform ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Over 8 years of experience developing scalable cloud-native applications using languages such as Python or Node.js.
• 8+ years of expertise in cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) implementing CI/CD pipelines and software lifecycle automation with tools such as Jenkins, CloudBees, and Spinnaker.
• Proficient with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Helm, and Ansible for platform automation.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud networking principles, observability frameworks, and distributed system architectures.
• Strong skills in resolving platform issues and debugging complex integration faults.
• Proven ability in creating operational documentation including runbooks, system design documents, and engineer manuals.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across multidisciplinary engineering groups.
• Hands-on experience deploying production AI/ML systems.
• Familiarity with agentic AI models or LLM-driven automation, including tool orchestration and autonomous agents.
• Demonstrated capability operating as a technical leader combining hands-on development with architectural accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background building AI-enhanced developer tools or platform automation frameworks.
• Experience leveraging AWS AI/ML services such as Bedrock or equivalent LLM platforms.
• Knowledge designing agent-based automation workflows to boost developer productivity.
• Experience managing large-scale distributed production systems.
• Expertise in DevOps practices, platform scalability, and infrastructure engineering.
• Familiarity with event-driven and microservices system design.
• Comfortable with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern CI/CD approaches.
• Proven track record in enhancing developer experience (DevEx) at an enterprise scale.

Compensation and Benefits

For Ireland-based roles, the starting annual base salary ranges from €71,000 to €104,500, contingent on experience and location, with potential to exceed this. Remuneration includes bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive package of benefits.
