Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to become part of our expanding platform engineering team. This position focuses on operational excellence, leveraging Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience to enhance our internal systems and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering managers, product managers, and fellow engineers to develop and advance internal platform systems.
• Manage foundational technologies that support engineering teams, improving reliability, developer experience, and customer outcomes through delivery of superior internal tools.
• Engage in designing and deploying technical solutions including infrastructure, application foundations, developer tooling, continuous integration/delivery pipelines, and system observability.
• Promote operational excellence by fostering SRE best practices to maintain high levels of reliability and performance for a rapidly expanding user base.
• Mentor and assist colleagues by participating in code reviews, pair programming sessions, design discussions, and supporting career development initiatives.
• Advocate and uphold pragmatic software development methodologies while contributing to establishing clear guidelines and standards based on industry best practices and accumulated experience.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience with platform engineering technologies such as TypeScript, GraphQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS cloud infrastructure, container orchestration systems like EKS or ECS, serverless architectures, developer tools, and infrastructure-as-code frameworks (Pulumi, Terraform).
• Strong sense of ownership and discipline in maintaining platform reliability, performance, and security to support scalable, high-growth environments.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex platform projects; able to comprehend requirements and ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Adaptability and pragmatism with a willingness to address challenges creatively while managing ambiguity, shifting priorities, and deadlines independently.
• An unwavering commitment to high-quality output, delivering complete and polished work without compromising standards.
• Effective and clear communication skills to articulate technical tradeoffs and collaborate effectively within the platform team.
• A minimum of five years' experience in software engineering with at least three years specifically in roles related to SRE, DevOps, or similar areas. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience with a solid grasp of engineering principles and operational best practices.
