Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Pattern Maker (m/f/d) to join our Düsseldorf office starting March 2027. This role involves leading the development and upkeep of foundational and key garment patterns, ensuring technical precision and fit quality throughout collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pattern development and continuous maintenance of core blocks and styles to uphold fit consistency and technical accuracy.
- Manage and document grading protocols to guarantee size uniformity and scalable solutions across varied product groups.
- Define fit benchmarks and direct fitting processes to achieve consistent, premium fit outcomes.
- Oversee patterns for complex garment constructions and material-specific needs to secure optimum quality and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with design, garment technology, and merchandising teams to address technical issues and enhance product results.
- Develop and refine pattern-making procedures, standards, and technical guidelines for consistent and efficient workflows.
- Continuously benchmark industry standards and trends to maintain excellence in product offerings.
- Maintain ownership of pattern repositories and documentation ensuring accurate records and traceability.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to enhance team expertise and uphold quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completed professional training as a patternmaker or comparable university degree focusing on pattern making.
- At least five years of pattern making experience in retail, covering foundational pattern development, style alterations, and broad material category expertise.
- Extensive experience in CAD pattern development and detailed technical documentation including sketches, construction instructions, grading charts, and fusing directions.
- Well-versed in apparel supply chain processes.
- Proficiency in English with advanced communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skillset combined with a methodical and comprehensive approach to projects and long-term responsibilities.
