Role Overview

The Senior Pattern Maker position is a permanent, full-time onsite role based in Dubai, UAE. The key responsibility is to convert fashion sketches into precise patterns, lead garment fitting sessions, and ensure all construction adheres to couture standards. Typical daily activities include drafting and adapting patterns, supervising fabric cutting processes, coaching sewing teams on technical specifics, and collaborating closely with designers to perfect silhouettes and garment fit. This role also encompasses prototype evaluation, leading fit reviews, pattern amendment, maintaining consistent quality across collections, mentoring junior staff, optimizing workflow efficiency, and providing technical recommendations to enhance design and production stages.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Exceptional aptitude in moulage/draping techniques, demonstrating mastery in fabric manipulation on mannequins to craft exact patterns for complex couture designs.
• Ability to interpret personalized client measurements, posture, and body forms to create impeccably tailored garments.
• In-depth knowledge of couture construction, including fashioning intricate structures and elegant details with luxurious fabrics.
• Competency in translating three-dimensional drapery into accurate two-dimensional patterns suitable for cutting and assembly.
• Expertise in fit correction through conducting fittings, identifying fitting issues, and executing precise adjustments to achieve flawless fit.
• Leadership skills to direct sample makers and junior pattern makers in moulage, pattern drafting, garment construction, and couture finishing techniques.
