Senior Network Engineer - Storage L3

About the Role

The Senior Network Engineer specializing in Storage L3 plays a pivotal role in managing network services including LAN, SDWAN, MAN, Voice, Video, Wireless, ISP, Zero Trust, EDMZ, and contact center technologies in collaboration with vendors. This position supports network availability and leads the introduction of new technologies within the network environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary expert for complex storage issues, delivering specialized solutions and guidance.
• Design scalable, high-performance, and resilient storage architectures fit for large enterprises.
• Implement and uphold storage management best practices to guarantee data protection, availability, and regulatory compliance.
• Forecast storage capacity needs, analyze performance data, and optimize storage resources across large infrastructures.
• Develop and execute data continuity plans including failover mechanisms and replication strategies for disaster recovery.
• Identify and mitigate security risks related to storage systems, protecting data integrity and confidentiality.
• Ensure storage solutions comply with legal and industry regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate storage systems with databases, applications, and virtual platforms.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, policies, and standards aligned with organizational objectives.
• Stay abreast of emerging storage technologies, evaluate new tools, and drive their deployment within the company.
• Manage data backup using tape libraries and ensure efficient recovery processes.
• Maintain data replication setups for reliable disaster recovery operations minimizing downtime.
• Investigate and resolve storage system issues including corruption, data loss, or failures promptly.
• Enforce security measures and access controls to prevent unauthorized data breaches or access.
• Participate actively in disaster recovery drills to test and improve recovery protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (B.Tech/B.E. in CSE preferred).
• 12 to 18 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years focused on storage environments.
• Certifications such as NetApp Certified Technology Solutions Professional, Pure Storage FlashArray Storage Professional, VMCE, IBM Storage, and familiarity with TSM backup.
• Strong hardware and software expertise in storage technologies and disaster recovery methodologies.
• Proven track record in managing public internet routing, transport, and access alongside deep understanding of network service providers for both public and private networks.
• Demonstrated experience in leading mid-to-large scale, complex, business-critical initiatives, influencing stakeholders at senior and executive levels.
• Ability to facilitate organizational change and spearhead digital transformation initiatives.
• Knowledgeable of current storage industry trends and backup strategies.
