Role Overview
This Senior Microsoft 365 Specialist position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a people-oriented and customer-focused organisation. You will play a pivotal role within our Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence across New Zealand, acting as a key technical escalation resource and delivering exceptional experiences for users of Modern Workplace services.
Your focus will be on enabling Microsoft 365 productivity and adoption, covering areas such as data management, file collaboration, communication, security, identity, and access management.
This role is based at our offices in New Zealand, with eligibility limited to New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents due to clearance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert support for Microsoft identity management, including Azure AD, AD Connect, ADFS, and Microsoft Identity Manager.
- Manage modern collaboration tools within the Office 365 suite such as Teams, Planner, Groups, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Yammer.
- Implement and support collaboration and video conferencing platforms including Teams and related hardware/software like Poly, Cisco, and Zoom.
- Possess working knowledge of competing IT collaboration and communication platforms.
- Handle email security and archiving systems including Office 365 ATP/EOP, Mimecast, and Avepoint.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Previous experience working within an ICT Professional Services environment.
- Extensive hands-on expertise as a Microsoft 365 Engineer, demonstrating strong skills in:
- Core Office 365 collaboration services: Exchange Online Mailbox Management, Exchange Online Protection, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
- Azure AD identity management including managing users, security and distribution groups, Office 365 groups, devices, and guest/external users.
- Familiarity with Azure AD identity and authentication technologies such as Azure AD Connect, Password Hash Sync, Pass-thru Authentication, Seamless Single Sign-On, ADFS, Azure MFA, and Self-Service Password Reset.
