Senior MES Recipe Author

Overview

The Senior MES Recipe Author will handle the implementation of system/MES recipe modifications and oversee the resolution of daily issues related to Electronic Batch Records, Weigh and Dispense processes, and Equipment Management modules within the Emerson Syncade MES platform. This role is part of a collaborative MES team at a major multinational Biotech manufacturing site located in Cork.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the incident queue using ServiceNow, ensuring timely issue resolution.
• Initiate and carry out Change Control processes aligned with Quality Standards and Practices.
• Investigate and troubleshoot problems to find solutions or suggest system improvements.
• Produce high-quality, well-documented, and maintainable configuration changes.
• Prioritize support tasks to align with project timelines and perform thorough testing of new MES recipes and modifications.
• Develop computer system validation documentation according to site protocols and GMP compliance.
• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety procedures and contribute to incident investigations as required.
• Understand and respect the quality control role in pharmaceutical manufacturing, upholding a high ethical standard in work.
• Develop strong professional relationships within and outside the MES team.
• Prepare to provide Out of Hours Support as the role evolves.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience supporting IT applications, including troubleshooting, incident and change control management, design documentation, test case creation, system and integration testing.
• Experience with IT application changes in a GMP-regulated environment is preferred.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in MES recipe authoring and configuration management.
• Programming skills, particularly in Visual Basic, and familiarity with MS SQL Server is advantageous.
• Proven ability to engage and communicate effectively with business users to ensure requirements are accurately gathered and fulfilled.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across different teams and functions.
• A self-driven and delivery-oriented mindset with experience coordinating across multiple business and functional teams.
