Job Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with over a decade of experience in mechanical engineering, including design, installation, maintenance, and project management. The candidate should possess strong technical expertise and leadership qualities to oversee complex engineering projects ensuring adherence to standards, safety protocols, and quality controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review mechanical systems, equipment, and engineering solutions.
- Lead mechanical engineering operations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and critically assess technical specifications, drawings, calculations, and engineering reports.
- Oversee mechanical installations, tests, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with different engineering disciplines such as electrical, civil, and architectural.
- Evaluate contractor and supplier submissions, including technical documents and material specifications.
- Track project progress ensuring quality, budget adherence, and meeting schedule requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical problems with effective engineering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with international mechanical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections to verify conformity with approved drawings and specifications.
- Engage in discussions with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technical personnel.
- Document progress through reports, technical paperwork, and maintaining project records.
- Adhere to company policies, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, and quality management systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, installation, equipment, and maintenance.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with international engineering codes and standards.
- Competent in engineering software tools and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical skills with sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication capabilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work autonomously and lead diverse teams effectively.
- Proficient English language skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional engineering certification is an asset.
- Experience in sectors such as large-scale construction, industrial, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards (HSE) and quality assurance processes.
- Experience liaising with consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management proficiency.
