Role Overview
This role involves delivering expert technical assurance and critically reviewing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor outputs, specifically those related to materials and corrosion protection. The professional will evaluate corrosion control plans, material selection diagrams, paint and coating standards, as well as cathodic protection design elements. They will ensure EPC deliverables, including corrosion studies, comply rigorously with international standards such as NACE, API, and ISO. Responsibilities also include participating in material selection workshops, appraising vendor bids, performing design reviews, supporting site inspections concerning corrosion and coating application, and verifying proper corrosion monitoring system implementation and recordkeeping. The role mandates providing strategic guidance to improve material integrity and enhance lifecycle performance of project facilities.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 6 years specifically in Corrosion Engineering focused on significant Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
- Proven expertise in asset integrity relating to corrosion is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely associated engineering discipline with focused studies on Corrosion, Materials, or Metallurgy.
