Reliance Automation Ltd specializes in the turnkey design, construction, and delivery of customized automated systems tailored for the Life Science and High Technology industries. As a member of the century-old Reliance Group, we are expanding our new bespoke automation facility located in Dundalk, Ireland.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with over four years of expertise to act as the technical subject matter expert and project lead overseeing complex, large-scale automation system development. Starting from initial concept, you will develop mechanical architecture, work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, and guide projects from inception through to on-site commissioning and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design advanced automation machinery using SolidWorks within a Product Data Management environment, integrating robotics, servo and pneumatic systems, transfer mechanisms, vision technology, and safety guarding.
- Serve as the main technical interface for global clients, leading design discussions and providing timely project updates internally and externally.
- Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, select materials, and collaborate directly with machine shops for custom components procurement.
- Assist with regulatory compliance efforts by contributing to risk assessments and developing comprehensive technical files aligned with CE marking requirements.
- Convert customer User Requirement Specifications into detailed functional designs and manage execution of Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) validation processes.
- Design pneumatic circuit schematics is highly advantageous.
- Provide on-site production floor support including troubleshooting and assembly assistance as needed.
