About the Role

The Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) seeks a Senior Manager, Manager, or Assistant Manager to drive the vision of fostering a safe, inclusive digital society in Singapore. This role involves devising, evaluating, and refining strategies, policies, and programs that empower citizens to leverage digital technologies and thrive in the future digital landscape. Focus areas include digital accessibility, inclusive design, digital literacy and readiness, as well as digital well-being, citizenship, and safety.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the creation, coordination, and evaluation of digital society policies and initiatives that benefit individuals and key groups, collaborating with MDDI, its agencies—such as IMDA, NLB, CSA, and GovTech—and partnering ministries as well as the Whole of Government (WOG) entities.
  • Drive a unified MDDI-wide strategy to cultivate an inclusive, safe, and trusted digital environment, ensuring responsiveness to emerging challenges with cohesive and effective solutions.
  • Oversee commissioning of research, conduct environmental scans, and engage with both local and international academic and research bodies to maintain up-to-date insights that inform policy development and outcomes.
  • Collaborate within MDDI to align research directions and disseminate findings across the broader government to ensure policy relevance and impact.
  • Support the design and deployment of tools and methodologies to measure and evaluate digital society outcomes in Singapore.
  • Perform secretariat duties for committees and structures established to advance these objectives.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to navigate complex issues.
  • Educational background in relevant disciplines such as social sciences or communications.
  • Genuine commitment to fostering digital inclusion, literacy, and well-being.
  • Collaborative team player with stellar interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities, adaptable to the dynamic demands of social policy work within the technology sector.
  • Experience in the public sector or social service organizations is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Applicants with extensive work experience may be considered for higher-level positions.
