Job description

About the Role

Are you passionate about data protection and eager to contribute to the digital and AI transformation of a leading international media corporation? Join an innovative setting where you collaborate with experts from diverse fields to develop market-leading media products with global outreach. As a Senior Manager Privacy & Data Governance, you will guide departments like editorial, product development, and business on GDPR-compliant approaches for new product launches and business initiatives across a variety of digital brands and platforms.

Our Digital Trust Center oversees implementation and adherence to privacy and AI governance standards. We manage and advance the consent management platforms for Axel Springer's German news media brands such as BILD, WELT, Business Insider, and SPORT BILD. Additionally, we support digital products, technologies, and data-driven business models throughout their entire lifecycle from privacy and AI governance perspectives. You will assess novel projects, design pragmatic and legally compliant solutions, handle complex governance requirements, and assist our brands in implementing digital innovations that are responsible, user-focused, and successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data protection assessments for new products, technologies, and business models.
  • Coordinate among relevant stakeholders to ensure the fulfillment of all necessary GDPR obligations.
  • Share responsibility for monitoring and managing data protection compliance of digital platforms (including websites, apps, OTT), utilized third-party technologies, and partner integrations.
  • Protect employee data by working closely and trustfully with works council bodies.
  • Raise awareness on data protection across departments, standardize and automate processes, and deliver targeted training sessions.

Candidate Profile

  • At least three years of professional experience in privacy management or data protection project management, preferably within the digital economy.
  • You view data protection as an enabler for innovative, trustworthy, and legally compliant products.
  • Familiarity with SCC, AVV, TIA, TOM, VVT, DSFA, DSE, and CMP as part of your everyday data protection expertise.
  • A self-driven, structured, meticulous, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach to complex topics.
  • Clear, assertive, and cooperative communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Preferably you hold recognized data protection certifications or equivalent qualifications.
  • Fluency in both German and English languages is essential.

Benefits

  • Discount programs including Germany public transport ticket, bike leasing (JobRad), Wellhub gyms, courses, personal training, various online shops, insurance options, and capital-forming benefits (VwL).
  • Access to a remarkable campus located in central Berlin with modern office spaces, concierge services, co-working areas, and Berlin’s trendiest rooftop terrace.
  • Complimentary food options including breakfast snacks and free lunch at staff restaurants.
  • Continuous learning opportunities through AI workshops, diverse courses, and personal and professional development sessions.
  • A hybrid work culture focusing on 80% onsite presence and 20% remote work.
  • An indefinite full-time or part-time position in a state-of-the-art office in the heart of Berlin.
