Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager for Payroll to oversee the comprehensive payroll operations for a vast workforce of 3,000 to 4,000 employees across India. This role demands an expert with extensive knowledge in payroll management and statutory compliance, ready to join immediately or within a short notice period.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete monthly payroll process for 3,000 to 4,000 employees nationwide.
- Verify all payroll inputs including attendance, arrears, appraisals, bonuses (joining and retention), overtime, performance-linked incentives, reimbursements, and deductions.
- Compile and analyze Payroll MIS, year-to-date salary, reimbursement, and incentives reports for the Finance, Business Intelligence, and Management teams.
- Handle employee tax deductions including TDS, prepare quarterly returns, annual 24Q, Form 16 documentation, and manage investment declarations and proofs.
- Ensure punctual statutory compliance for PF, ESIC, Labour Welfare Fund, Professional Tax, Bonus, Maternity Benefits, POSH, and other relevant regulations.
- Administer employee-related benefits such as Gratuity, Leave Encashment, Group Medical Coverage, Group Personal Accident, and Group Term Life insurance including endorsements, renewals, and claim processing.
- Lead the closure process for internal, statutory, and tax audits relevant to payroll.
- Review salaries and statutory adherence documentation submitted by manpower vendors.
- Guarantee timely payment of salaries, reimbursements, incentives, and completion of full and final settlements.
- Champion payroll governance, enforce payroll policies, and coordinate with stakeholders across HR, Finance, BI, and business units.
Expertise and Skills Required
- Thorough knowledge and extensive experience in end-to-end payroll management.
- In-depth understanding of Indian statutory compliance related to payroll and employment.
- Proficiency in managing TDS, Income Tax protocols, and statutory filings such as 24Q and Form 16.
- Experience with managing various employer obligations including Provident Fund, ESIC, Professional Tax, and Labour Welfare Fund.
- Competence in administering employee benefits such as gratuity, bonus payments, and leave encashment schemes.
- Capability to manage payroll-related insurance policies and benefits.
- Ability to prepare detailed payroll MIS and reconcile payroll data accurately.
- Exposure to internal, statutory, and tax audit processes concerning payroll.
- Insight into vendor compliance management and payroll documentation.
- Proficient using HRMS and payroll software tools along with advanced skills in Excel.
Additional Information
Immediate availability or minimal notice period is highly preferred. Candidates must possess 10 to 15+ years of experience in payroll and compliance management within large organizations handling thousands of employees.

Monthly salary ranging from INR 100,000 to INR 130,000.
