Senior Manager, Global Gas Solutions

Role Overview

Under direction from the Director of Global Gas Solutions (GGS), the Senior Manager leads the global gas solutions team, focusing especially on gas-related projects such as gas carriers, liquefaction, and regasification systems. The role involves managing product and service development, nurturing and establishing client relationships, and implementing corporate initiatives that leverage relevant technologies to enhance ABS's reputation as a marine gas fuels technology leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Track industry trends affecting current and prospective clients and assist in building strong client partnerships while actively promoting ABS's global gas capabilities.
• Serve as a communication bridge by supporting owners, shipyards, designers, and other stakeholders during business development and project execution; facilitate smoother communication with internal teams and resolve external project issues.
• Act as the subject matter expert for gas-related topics including gas carriers, floating gas projects, and low-flashpoint fuel applications to support internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, organizing and motivating senior professionals while overseeing their work activities.
• Stay informed about worldwide marine gas product and service capabilities, identifying development needs and recommending technological/tools and skills enhancements to capitalize on market opportunities.
• Engage actively in relevant local, national, and international organizations.
• Contribute to marketing efforts by creating informational materials and participating in client visits, meetings, conferences, and trade shows related to the natural gas industry.
• Support ABS's rule development activities, help identify research and development needs, and participate in external committees and organizations.
• Assist the Director of GGS with business development initiatives as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least eight years of relevant experience within the gas or related industries.
• Capacity to understand and apply the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FLNGs, FSRUs, gas carriers, gas fuel systems, and applicable gas systems.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical matters to clients and public audiences.
• Proven management skills to guide professional teams effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills to inspire senior professionals and build enduring client relationships at executive levels.
• Analytical abilities to diagnose and resolve complex and distinctive program challenges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to a Director or higher-level executive within the organization.
