- Conduct feasibility studies for mechanical, thermal, packaging, and structural aspects of exhaust systems and powertrain components within vehicle platforms using engineering analysis and field data.
- Customize and configure core product architectures to meet specific vehicle platform requirements while ensuring system performance, regulatory compliance, and integration objectives.
- Oversee preparation of technical proposals, architecture definitions, and detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) aligned with commercial and product management needs.
- Organize technical alignment sessions with OEM customers to present advanced technology roadmaps, discuss system performance trade-offs, and obtain formal technical approvals.
- Coordinate closely with CAD design, validation, testing, manufacturing, and program teams for smooth product development from concept to start of production (SOP).
- Develop and propose technology roadmaps, conduct benchmarking of emerging technologies, and create intellectual property rights (IPRs) linked to product innovations.
- Manage system validation and series release sign-offs by completing bench-level and system-level validations per internal DVP protocols, analyzing results, generating closure reports, and securing OEM approval before series production.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 to 15 years of substantive experience in application engineering or product development with a focus on exhaust systems, emissions control aggregates, and powertrain components.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in exhaust system architecture, thermal management, structural packaging, and powertrain integration with practical experience in product validations and calibration methodologies for exhaust systems.
- Proven expertise in managing technical engagements with global or domestic automotive OEMs.
- Working knowledge of automotive Bill of Materials structures, Request for Quotations (RFQ) processes, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and application feasibility validation standards.
