Role Overview

This senior Knowledge Lawyer position supports a 20-lawyer team in Ireland and serves a broad client base by delivering a variety of knowledge management, training, and business development activities.

• Designing and delivering training and legal update sessions on employment law changes for clients and colleagues.
• Contributing to business development through thought leadership and client-focused publications.
• Enhancing client engagement via knowledge projects aligned with business goals.
• Promoting innovative ideas, including AI and technology solutions, to improve knowledge management, training, and development efforts.
• Overseeing local In-House Employment Lawyers Community events: organizing, presenting, preparing materials, and follow-ups.
• Monitoring legislative, regulatory, and case law developments to identify strategic issues, delivering timely updates.
• Creating horizon scanning reports and briefings for internal teams and clients.
• Collaborating on designing and executing client training programs on key employment law topics.
• Leading internal training initiatives such as inductions for new personnel and return-to-work programs for those returning from leave.
• Supporting the expansion of cross-border employment law services through coordination with international colleagues in Ius Laboris.
• Building relationships with stakeholders including in-house counsel networks, industry groups, and professional bodies.
• Raising the firm’s profile nationally and internationally through media commentary, social media presence, and other channels.
• Working alongside UK, Northern Ireland, and international Knowledge Lawyer teams, sharing the Irish perspective on joint projects.
• Providing assistance with complex or detailed legal research.
• Maintaining and refining precedents, know-how, and knowledge resources to a high level of quality.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will be an experienced lawyer transitioning to or currently working in a Knowledge Lawyer role, with expertise in employment law emanating either from private practice or an in-house environment.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication capabilities with clarity in speech and text.
• Skills in drafting and journalistic writing are advantageous.
• Demonstrates inquisitive, creative thinking with a collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Possesses market and commercial awareness relevant to Ireland.
• Familiarity with IT systems, AI tools, and knowledge management platforms is beneficial.
• Enjoys working in a dynamic, professional, and supportive team environment.
