About the Role
Our client, a software vendor specializing in security, is looking for a seasoned Backend Developer with expertise in telecommunications to design, develop, and maintain high-throughput data services. This role involves end-to-end responsibility, including collaborating with users to develop new features, delivering them incrementally, and ensuring operational reliability in production.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement services capable of processing and storing substantial telecom signaling and media traffic data, selecting appropriate storage solutions for varying needs.
- Enhance existing systems focusing on performance optimization, stability, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues spanning codebases, infrastructure, network layers, and database systems.
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code within a culture of peer code reviews.
- Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams, end-users, and clients.
Qualifications and Experience
- Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience with Java (version 8 or higher) as the main programming language.
- Hands-on telecom domain experience familiar with 3GPP standards and SIP/RTP protocol stacks.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience developing distributed systems based on microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and the associated trade-offs.
- Practical skills with Docker, Linux environment, and command-line operations.
- Working knowledge of observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Familiarity with Mechanical Sympathy concepts and foundational network programming skills.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Exposure to IMS, VoLTE/VoNR, Diameter or SS7 protocols.
- Experience with Spring Boot framework.
- Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, NSQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Familiarity with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Spark, Iceberg, or design of data warehouses.
- Understanding of S3-compatible object storage systems.
- Hands-on with automation and orchestration tools like Ansible and Kubernetes.
- Some experience with Python programming language.
