Senior IT Security Operations Engineer

Overview

The Senior IT Security Operations Engineer plays an essential role in safeguarding the organization's IT infrastructure by actively monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain security tools including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and DLP systems.
• Carry out detailed investigations of security incidents, perform threat hunting, and assist in incident response processes.
• Execute vulnerability assessments and collaborate with IT teams to ensure timely mitigation of risks.
• Optimize and manage security tools, refine detection rules, and maintain automation playbooks.
• Generate incident documentation, compile security metrics, and aid in compliance audit processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a closely related area.
• Preferably hold professional certifications such as Security+, CEH, Splunk, GIAC, or OSCP.
• Have 5 to 8 years of experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) or IT Security Operations roles.
• Demonstrated proficiency with SIEM tools (such as Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel), firewalls, EDR/XDR platforms, and endpoint security solutions.
• Experience in incident response, vulnerability management, and analyzing security logs.
• Familiarity with operating systems like Windows and Linux, along with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of malware analysis, phishing, ransomware, threat intelligence, and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Skills in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash are advantageous.

• Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication capabilities to collaborate effectively within teams.
• Capability to operate in a 24×7 Security Operations Center environment.

Additional Information

Candidates with practical experience supporting Microsoft infrastructure for Central Asian states, either within or outside the UAE, will be preferred.
