Role Overview

We are searching for a seasoned Senior Infrastructure as Code Specialist who will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management solutions across enterprise IT landscapes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive expertise in IaC frameworks, infrastructure automation, cloud provisioning, configuration management, version control, CI/CD integration, policy enforcement, infrastructure testing, and automating operational workflows. This position aims to replace manual infrastructure operations with secure, reusable, scalable, and auditable automation supporting cloud, on-premises, hybrid, networking, storage, virtualization, and container infrastructure.

Collaboration with teams from Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cybersecurity, Network, Systems Administration, Applications, Database, and Project Management will be essential to define automation standards, enhance infrastructure delivery, enforce configuration consistency, and support technology modernization. The role also ensures compliance with governance procedures and UAE regulatory requirements for all automated infrastructure changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and uphold enterprise IaC architectures consistent with technology standards and long-term strategies.
• Create automation frameworks facilitating consistent cloud, on-premises, and hybrid resource provisioning and management.
• Assess and select appropriate IaC technologies considering scalability, security, maintainability, and integration.
• Develop reusable infrastructure modules, templates, and deployment methodologies emphasizing modularity and environment segregation.
• Prepare reference architectures for infrastructure across various environments including development and production.
• Identify automation opportunities to replace manual tasks, thereby increasing reliability and repeatability.
• Analyze dependencies between infrastructure components and recommend strategies to reduce deployment times and operational overhead.
• Document architecture diagrams, design standards, and automation roadmaps.
• Develop and manage IaC solutions using Terraform, OpenTofu, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, among others.
• Automate complete lifecycle operations of infrastructure assets with parameterized modules supporting diverse resource types.
• Implement idempotent deployments, parameter validations, and controlled workflows for lifecycle management.
• Collaborate on changes with service request, change management, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues including resource conflicts and provider errors.
• Manage Terraform and OpenTofu configurations focusing on reusable modules, state management, version control, and environment segregation.
• Maintain provider versioning, remote storage state locking, and security controls for state files.
• Standardize module versioning, documentation, and testing to ensure safe and consistent usage.
• Develop configuration management automation with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, including OS configurations, software installs, security hardening, and maintenance tasks.
• Implement configuration baselines and remediation for Linux and Windows systems ensuring repeatability and compliance.
• Integrate IaC workflows with CI/CD pipelines like GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps for validation, approval, and deployment processes.
• Ensure pipeline security, approval gating, failure handling, and rollback processes are in place.
• Oversee infrastructure repositories with clear branching strategies, access controls, code reviews, and release management.
• Maintain traceability between code changes and infrastructure deployments, promoting reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
