Senior Infrastructure Architect

Overview

An established financial services firm is on the lookout for a Senior Infrastructure Architect to pioneer the evolution of their enterprise technology infrastructure. This high-impact role blends strategic vision with practical delivery, focusing on crafting secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure within a multifaceted technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and refine enterprise infrastructure architecture with comprehensive technology roadmaps covering cloud, compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and platform technologies.
• Analyze current infrastructure setups to identify modernization potentials, introducing innovative technologies and architectural strategies that enhance scalability, resilience, automation, and operational effectiveness.
• Lead design and architecture of complex infrastructure solutions from inception through execution, ensuring strict compliance with enterprise architecture policies, cybersecurity protocols, and regulatory frameworks.
• Advocate hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, infrastructure automation, software-defined technologies, and contemporary engineering methodologies while evaluating new technologies for business impact.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure engineering, application development, cybersecurity, and operational teams to provide governance and assurance for architecture during transformational projects.
• Engage with senior technical stakeholders, propose alternatives to conventional methods when necessary, and develop architecture standards that balance innovation with resilience and security demands in a highly regulated setting.

Essential Qualifications

• At least 10 to 15 years of comprehensive experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering and architecture, particularly designing expansive, mission-critical technology environments.
• Deep proficiency across cloud and hybrid infrastructures, compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and infrastructure automation coupled with solid knowledge of architecture principles, security, and operational resilience.
• Hands-on experience with key cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with contemporary infrastructure technologies including containerization, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and software-defined infrastructure.
• Proven track record in leading infrastructure modernization or large-scale technology transformations, preferably in financial services or equivalent complex enterprise contexts.
• Strong commercial acumen alongside innovative architecture perspectives with practical implementation focus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, adept at influencing senior technology leaders, challenging norms, and articulating complex technical ideas into actionable architectural guidance.
