About the Role
A prominent financial services organization is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Architect to lead the transformation of its enterprise technology infrastructure. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on architecture responsibilities to design secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions within a multifaceted technology environment. Collaboration is key as you will work alongside teams in Engineering, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and broader Technology to define the future-state infrastructure architecture, assess new technologies, and convert business needs into innovative infrastructure implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the enterprise infrastructure architecture, creating technology roadmaps and reference architectures across cloud platforms, compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and platform technologies.
- Evaluate the current infrastructure to identify modernization opportunities and incorporate new technology and architectural patterns to enhance scalability, resilience, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Lead the design and architecture of complex infrastructure solutions from initial concept through to deployment, ensuring all designs comply with enterprise architecture, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, infrastructure automation, software-defined infrastructure, and modern engineering methodologies.
- Assess emerging technologies to determine their potential to add business and technological value.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure engineering, application, cybersecurity, and operations teams to provide governance and assurance for major transformation projects.
- Engage senior technology stakeholders, challenge conventional methodologies when appropriate, and establish architecture standards that balance innovation with required resilience and security, especially within a highly regulated industry.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years in enterprise infrastructure engineering and architecture with hands-on experience designing large-scale, mission-critical IT environments.
- Deep knowledge across cloud and hybrid infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and infrastructure automation, coupled with strong familiarity with security protocols and operational resilience.
- Proficiency with leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
- Experience working with modern infrastructure technologies including containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and software-defined infrastructure solutions.
- Demonstrated track record of driving infrastructure modernization and large-scale technology transformations, preferably in financial services or similarly complex enterprise sectors.
- An innovative, commercially aware architect who balances exploring new technology with practical enterprise deployment considerations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, adept at influencing senior technology leaders, challenging the status quo, and clearly articulating complex technical concepts and architectural strategies.
