Senior IC Layout Manager

Role Overview

The Senior IC Layout Manager is responsible for leading the IC layout delivery within the PMD product line, offering leadership in technical matters, team management, and project execution for complex analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit designs. This role oversees layout quality, scheduling, and resource allocation from initial floorplanning stages to tape-out, collaborating closely with Design Engineering, Design Enablement, and Program Management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct IC layout activities for PMIC product development from initial concept to tape-out completion.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of layout engineers and project leads distributed across various locations.
• Own the strategies related to layout, including floorplanning and comprehensive chip integration for analog and mixed-signal circuits.
• Ensure all layouts meet foundry design rules, reliability standards, and adhere to best practices in layout design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align layout objectives with product timelines and roadmaps.
• Champion initiatives around layout methodologies, design reuse, documentation, and automation improvements.
• Monitor and report on layout progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Encourage continuous advancement through lessons learned post-silicon testing and optimization of processes.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 15 years' experience in IC layout focusing on analog and mixed-signal designs.
• Proven leadership experience managing layout teams or large-scale layout projects.
• In-depth understanding of the unique challenges related to PMIC layouts such as handling high current, noise isolation, device matching, and ensuring reliability.
• Extensive experience using industry-standard layout and verification software tools.
• Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in leading multi-location or global layout teams.
• Previous responsibility for the full-chip layout of PMIC products in production environments.
• Exposure to multiple foundries and various technology nodes.
• A history of driving automation and increasing productivity in layout operations.
