Position Overview

The Senior Human Resources Manager will drive comprehensive recruitment processes and oversee fundamental HR duties at a growing construction firm, focusing on attracting and securing top talent across all company levels. This role demands an experienced HR professional with strong industry connections and a track record of building robust candidate pools efficiently. A primary focus is recruiting senior leadership positions such as Directors and Vice Presidents, along with project-centric roles like Project Managers, Coordinators, and Site Supervisors. Additionally, this role acts as a key operational hub, facilitating smooth communications and supporting executive leadership within the office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for executive, corporate, and project roles.
  • Utilize broad professional networks and recruitment strategies to source high-quality candidates.
  • Generate significant candidate interest through optimized job postings and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Maintain active pipelines of qualified talent aligned with present and future project demands.
  • Collaborate with senior management on hiring strategies, workforce planning, and succession development.
  • Manage external recruitment partners, ensuring performance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support executive-level hiring through market research, candidate engagement, and interview coordination.
  • Handle screening, reference verifications, and offer negotiations for senior hires in cooperation with company owners.
  • Oversee all HR functions including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies that support company growth and compliance with Ontario labor laws.
  • Advise managers on employee matters, organizational design, and HR strategies.
  • Assist with compensation planning and workforce configuration for project staffing.
  • Maintain a professional and efficient office environment, ensuring smooth interdepartmental communication.
  • Provide administrative support such as document management, correspondence, and meeting facilitation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7 to 10+ years progressive experience in human resources and recruitment, ideally in construction or related sectors.
  • At least 5 years specializing in executive search, headhunting, or senior-level recruitment roles.
  • Proven ability to generate strong candidate pipelines and applicant flow.
  • Established network within Greater Toronto Area construction, engineering, or development communities.
  • Expertise in recruiting both senior executives and project personnel.
  • Deep understanding of construction staffing needs and organizational frameworks.
  • Preferred experience in senior HR leadership roles.
