About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a reputable Auckland-based company, driving the evolution of their engineering capabilities and working methodologies. This hands-on senior position focuses on creating high-quality and user-friendly applications using modern technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated full stack applications with a strong emphasis on front-end development.
- Utilize technologies such as React, Java, and Spring Boot in a contemporary engineering environment.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT/Codex, or JetBrains AI into daily workflow for coding, prototyping, refactoring, debugging, test generation, and code reviews while ensuring engineering rigor.
- Participate in solution design, making practical decisions relating to performance, security, scalability, and delivery timelines.
- Advocate for clean code standards, maintainability, automated testing, continuous integration/deployment, and best engineering practices.
- Review designs and code, share technical knowledge, and contribute to skill enhancement across the engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Seasoned software engineer with substantial experience in full stack development or a similar senior software engineering role.
- Strong expertise in front-end technologies, especially React, paired with proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Practical experience with AI-powered development assistants during the software development lifecycle without compromising quality, security, or maintainability.
- Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, and up-to-date software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Experienced in automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps culture.
- Excellent communicator comfortable working across engineering, architectural, product, and business teams.
