Role Overview

We seek a seasoned Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our specialized engineering team. In this role, you will architect, develop, and implement advanced AI Agentic Solutions designed for autonomous, proactive, and adaptable behaviors. Success depends on profound expertise in AI/ML technologies, automation, integration, solution architecture, and strong problem-solving capabilities, working collaboratively across diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft intelligent and autonomous AI workflows utilizing multi-agent collaboration and orchestration supported by Workato’s automation platform.
• Develop and deploy Agentic AI solutions leveraging Workato’s connectors, workflows, and recipes to enable context-sensitive, real-time interactions powered by large language models (LLMs).
• Innovate advanced methods for prompting, memory management, and behavior planning to empower LLMs and agents in reliably creating and executing intricate workflows.
• Serve as a technical expert troubleshooting AI-centric architectures including scalable Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and agent frameworks built on the Workato platform.
• Create and maintain robust AI-driven IT workflows featuring agent-based decision processes, dynamic data retrieval, and seamless Workato platform integration.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance AI system performance to ensure high efficiency and dependable operation.
• Partner closely with clients to identify needs and deliver custom, scalable Agentic AI and RAG solutions, ensuring client satisfaction through dedicated support aligned to technical and business requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate AI workflows smoothly into established IT environments.
• Contribute to internal process optimizations and knowledge sharing by enriching Workato’s knowledge base.
• Play a critical role throughout product development phases, from conception through deployment, providing valuable domain expertise.
• Support product managers in defining technical and design specifications aligned with product goals and user expectations.
• Communicate complex technical information effectively to audiences of varied technical backgrounds.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum eight years of relevant experience in design, development, and implementation, including at least three years specifically with Workato.
• Proven expertise in AI engineering focused on agent-based system development.
• Demonstrated capacity to architect scalable AI-driven workflows to improve IT operational efficiency.
• Deep understanding of integration projects, with hands-on experience in automation technologies, middleware, integration architecture, web services, enterprise messaging, APIs, SOA, ESB, BPM, SDKs, and database technologies.
• Over five years working with integration platforms like Workato, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, or MuleSoft, with cloud technology experience including iPaaS, SaaS, and cloud infrastructure considered advantageous.
• Strong familiarity with API technologies (RESTful, SOAP/XML) and data structures such as JSON, and proficiency with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• Experience programming in Java, Python, or Ruby for two to three years.
• Awareness of app integration trends and technical landscape is essential.
• Experience with cloud-based business applications such as Workday, NetSuite, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Marketo is beneficial.
• Knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, API integration, business process management, or robotic process automation is a plus.
