We are collaborating with a venture capital-backed enterprise AI SaaS platform, trusted by banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions globally, including Europe and the US. The company is experiencing significant growth as it heads toward its Series B funding round.
Role Overview
This role marks the company's first dedicated controllership hire, aimed at scaling the finance function effectively in preparation for the next fundraising phase. It requires a high degree of ownership and technical rigor, designed for candidates who have excelled in fast-growing environments and are capable of building a finance department from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full month-end and year-end closing processes along with financial reporting.
- Develop and establish robust financial controls, accounting policies, and framework for regulatory compliance.
- Oversee revenue recognition for complex, multi-year enterprise agreements with financial institutions such as banks and insurers.
- Ensure adherence to IFRS/SFRS standards for statutory reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate closely with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors.
- Support the VP Finance in financial planning and analysis, managing cash flows, and preparing for the Series B funding round.
Candidate Profile
- Professional experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, plus an additional 4 to 8 years in the industry, ideally within startups, scale-ups, or high-growth tech companies.
- Strong technical expertise in accounting standards, particularly IFRS and SFRS.
- Hands-on approach is essential as this role is part of the founding finance team.
- Experience in enterprise SaaS, fintech, or financial services sectors is highly advantageous.
