Senior F5 Administrator

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive F5 Administrator with around three years of practical experience managing and supporting F5 BIG-IP environments. The candidate should demonstrate strong skills with F5 load balancing technologies, a good understanding of network security principles, and network infrastructure basics. This role involves ensuring reliable delivery of applications, maintaining high availability, and assisting with network troubleshooting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup, configure, and support F5 BIG-IP devices, specifically Local Traffic Manager (LTM).
• Administer virtual servers, pools, nodes, health monitors, SSL profiles, and traffic policies.
• Conduct upgrades, apply patches, take backups, and implement disaster recovery plans for F5 platforms.
• Monitor F5 system performance to detect and address potential issues proactively.
• Troubleshoot problems related to application delivery, load balancing, SSL configurations, and connectivity.
• Collaborate with teams from applications, servers, and networking to meet business needs.
• Support and maintain high-availability (HA) configurations and failover setups.
• Participate in change management processes and document technical procedures thoroughly.
• Engage in incident handling and root cause analysis for outages affecting service availability.
• Offer operational assistance for network infrastructure and security-related functions when necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of direct experience managing F5 BIG-IP systems.
• Proficiency in F5 BIG-IP LTM administration and issue resolution.
• Hands-on experience with SSL certificate management and SSL offloading techniques.
• Understanding of load balancing concepts and application traffic management.
• Experience with high availability and failover configurations.
• Solid knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and basic networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, and network troubleshooting.
• Awareness of firewall principles and network security basics.
• Experience with monitoring tools and troubleshooting methods.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to F5 ASM, APM, DNS, or AFM modules.
• Certification such as F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) is a plus.
• Knowledge of network security technologies and established practices.
• Some experience with automation or scripting tools like PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Previous work experience in enterprise or data center environments.
