Senior ETL Developer

Job Overview

We are looking for an accomplished Data Engineer with at least 6 years of experience to join our expanding data team in Qatar. The position involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehousing frameworks. The focus is on creating robust ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and managing multi-dimensional data models with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows utilizing SSIS to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into the data warehouse.
• Create and implement SSAS multi-dimensional cubes to optimize data analysis and reporting.
• Write advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data extraction, manipulation, and validation.
• Ensure ETL and SSAS cube performance is optimized for scalability and efficiency.
• Work closely with data analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored data solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and data quality issues effectively.
• Document ETL processes, SSAS cube architecture, and data flows comprehensively.
• Adopt and apply data warehousing best practices in design and implementation.
• Keep current with emerging data engineering tools and methodologies to enhance infrastructure.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years practical experience in data engineering or closely related roles.
• Proficient in developing ETL pipelines with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Experienced in designing and managing SSAS multi-dimensional cubes.
• Advanced SQL expertise including complex query writing and stored procedure development.
• Familiar with job scheduling and troubleshooting ETL jobs.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling concepts such as star and snowflake schemas, and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Knowledgeable in data quality assurance and validation methods.
• Basic familiarity with Power BI.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
